Update 10/9/02, 2.00.23

Advanced Search - PC
Added the new Misc1 and Misc2 fields as searchable fields.

Advanced Search - Rules
You can search by the new Rule Category field now.

Combat Board
You can now right-click the "Dmg" button to apply damage differently. There are options for Full Damage, Half Damage, and Healing.

Fixed a problem where damage entries without a dice roll (description only) could get confused.

"Set Max Hit Points" had a small bug that I fixed.

Monster
The Attack grid now resizes when the form resizes. The Attack and Damage fields display more information if you make the form wider.

The Attack & Damage fields for spells has been made larger.

PC
Adder a new "Other" tab for miscellaneous information. It includes a Misc 1 and Misc 2 fields you can use for whatever you like (they are searchable fields in the advanced search) and a Notes field for anything you like.

Rules
Added a "Category" entry to the Rules. Right-click the pulldown to create any categories you like.

Spell Casting Form
This form can now be resized to whatever size you want. Fields on the form get bigger so you can see more info if need be.

Cast a spell without a 99 and there are 99 spells for that level, the 99 spell gets decremented (cast fireball when I have another 3rd level spell set as 99). Fixed.

Casting a spell directly from the spell screen for a spell that had a duration would generate an error. Fixed.

Stat Block Import
The Stat Block Import now checks the name of the creature being imported to the name of the creature that will be overwritten. If the names are different, you get a warning message and a chance to cancel the stat block import.

Update 10/9/02, 2.00.23

Advanced Search
All of the "Name" fields now support wildcard searches ("*bat*" will find 'Animal:Bat', 'Bonebat', 'Bat, Dire').

Results from any of the searches can be dragged & dropped to the Codex Tree.

For rules, added a search on the body of the rule.

Combat Board
The Combat Board can now be Saved/Loaded. Right-click the grid on the Combat Board to get those options. A creature has to be on the Combat Board for the right-click menu to work. See the Help section for the Combat Board at the very bottom.

Import/Export: Equipment
If you exported a piece of equipment with a blank category and then imported it, it would be assigned to a random category. Fixed.

Importing a Codex Tree with equipment would not correctly attach the equipment in the Codex Tree to that Equipment (when double-clicking in the Codex Tree, you'd get the wrong thing or a blank record). Fixed.

Update 9/26/02, 2.00.21

Advanced Search!
Added a new advanced search feature that lets you search all the different Reference Library items by various categories. You can now search your Monsters looking for "CR 1 to 3 creature that lives in a swamp" or search spells looking for all "Clr1" spells (and drag and drop all those spells in 1 step to your Spellbook!).

The Advanced Search is open using the new Binocular button on the toolbar.

Monster
Change the "Grapple" field to be "Grapple AB". Widen the field so a negative number can be entered.

Widen the "Size" field so negative numbers can be entered.

Please see the Help entry on the PC/NPC form, under Spell Casting, for more info.

Spell Form
Changed the Cast a Spell button from Ctrl+C to be Alt+C

Get this new file layout from the downloads page of the DMF website and see the Help topic for Importing Stat Blocks in the new version of DMF for instructions on using it. A XSL sheet for monsters should be available in the near future.

A huge THANK YOU to J. Anthony Digaetano who did a lot of work putting this sheet together for us!

Stat Block Import
You can now import stat blocks from other programs into DM's Familiar. This is only setup for PCs/NPCs right now. Please see the "Stat Block Import" entry under the Help menu for more information.

A huge Thank You! To Tommy Kieffer for doing a lot of beta testing on this new feature.

Warning: This is the first pass at some difficult code. There are bound to be some bugs that the beta testers did not catch. If buggy code annoys you, you may want to wait a couple versions before using this feature.

Update 7/21/02, 2.00.08

Spellbooks, Spell Casting!
